yes it has a removable bell housing. There are only two sfi approved bellhousings both are one offs on 6sp supras Ryan Woon has one Darin at Titan has the other one. I guess I could have one made that would cost a grip load though or get an approved blanket. At the power I am at I dont think I need either.

Well here is the deal guys....the head is fine. A custom block is just going to cost way too much money, but my dad has been on the phone with a guy in austin that has the same turbo set up as us and has a 20k fully built engine. He suggested, that if he was to do it over again, he would use the AP2 short block on our AP1 head. It is bigger displacement giving the same effect of a forged block. Our red line will have to go down some to compensate for the longer throw but no big deal, the Hondata will do that. We will also be getting forged pistons and rods. besides that, the valves will be stock (forged and strong enough from honda) and we will be getting hondata. The shop doing the car can tune hondata also and has tuned the above mentioned guys S2K. So they will dyno tune it and teach us the software, and we should be back up in 2-3 weeks!! Oh, they are also fabricating custom heat shields for the intake and ecu box....sweet!

He meant Glen. But we all said it. I think cams would be a really good idea if you are changing the stoke, not to mention it is an na car from the factory. (If that is what you meant by saying throw, the rev limiter needed to be lowered because of piston speed)

Yeah i was thinking i said that lol... But yeah.. you will be good stevo... Whos tuning it there? I would suggest taking it to Jason in h-town.. He may be a little bit more but i believe hes either number 2 or number 3 tuner in the nation for hondata.

Well the hondata was on the list of things to do...but with the price tag and how well we "thought" the car was running, we just didnt deem in necessary...but now it is necessary lol....The only reason that we want this guy to tune it glen is that he did a very similar tune for that other guy running hondata, and he is also giving us a discount on the tune if we do all the work through him...
Fin, yes you are right, it is because of the piston speed. Can you explain the cam situation to me a little more though? I dont quite understand the function.

The cams you have in the car from the factory are meant for a certain RPM (9k+?). If you will be running the car at lower RPM with the new shortblock, the factory cams won't be as efficient as cams that are meant for lower RPM ranges.
It's not necessary to get new cams, but it wouldn't be a bad idea.

Its cool i was just wondering who it is... I know there have been a couple guys in austin who have been learning k-pro and giving discounts on guys who will let them tune their car. *which is understandable as it gives them experience on tuning it.* i was just trying to see if his name rang a bell or not.
PS on the cam's you may be able to do what i did... where im running honda cams. I have a Integra Type R intake cam with a RSX Type S exhaust cam. I would have to do a little research and see if the k-cams are swappable or not.. if so you may be able to do just that... But i would suggest more of a TSX exhaust cam. and wouldn't be all that much either.

Going to be a beast when she is done.
Bigger displacement is always a good thing.
Good luck Steve!
